Examinations & Promotion Policy

Assessment is an integral part of the academic journey at Vidhyaa Vikas Matriculation Higher Secondary School. Our examination system is structured to monitor the academic progress of students throughout the year and to prepare them for higher levels of learning through regular and fair evaluations.

The academic year is divided into examination cycles that include:

  • Three Terminal Examinations: Conducted at the end of each term to assess cumulative learning.
  • Two Mid-Term Examinations: Conducted between terms to review ongoing academic progress and subject comprehension.

This ensures continuous evaluation and helps students improve steadily through feedback and reinforcement.

  • Attendance for examinations is compulsory. No student is allowed to miss an examination without prior permission from the Principal.
  • In case of genuine illness or emergency, a written explanation along with a medical certificate must be submitted immediately.
  • Students found indulging in malpractice will face strict disciplinary action, which may include disqualification from the examination.

Parents of students who fail in more than two subjects are requested to meet the Principal personally to discuss the student’s performance and necessary corrective actions.

  • A Promotion Committee, headed by the Principal and comprised of selected staff members, is formed annually to frame and implement fair promotion criteria.
  • The Promotion Committee’s decisions are final and binding, based on the policies framed for the academic year.
  • The promotion of each student is decided not solely on their Annual Examination performance, but also takes into account:
    • Marks from *Terminal Examinations*
    • Regular assessments
    • Attendance
    • Discipline and overall academic attitude
